Kenma was just... never the "affectionate" type of boyfriend.

Even when he agreed to go out with you (reluctantly and because Yaku told him to be nicer to you), you were still left flabbergasted. It had been three years, three years of chasing Kenma around trying to get him to notice you and gain his attention, doing everything that was possible for him to like you.

You even learned how to put on makeup –when you hated it–, wearing more "feminine" and cute clothes because he preferred girls that way, asking him about his likes and preferences and buying him things that he might like (according to Kuroo and Lev). You even had the habit of asking Kuroo almost daily if Kenma asked about you or if he had noticed you...

Three years of hard work had finally came to fruition: Kenma was your boyfriend now.

But not everything was rosy. Kenma was cold as ice, stoic, unapproachable and he never called you pretty or by cute pet names even once. He tended to ignore your texts dismissively for days and never called you back when you interrumpted him while playing. He always had an excuse, though, saying he had more important things to do than paying attention to you. You always forgave him.

The dates were always your proposing, he never really wanted to go out. Or at least, not with you, because you knew perfectly than if Hinata, Kuroo or even Jenna (his best friend) called him to go wherever, he'd be ready in five. You even had heard him calling her "beautiful" and "baby" while on the phone. More than once...

Unlike with you, that you had to beg him for days to finally get him out of his house. It was a miracle if he agreed to even grab your hand EVER when you two went out for a walk. And the real hard task was making him smile or laugh; he'd usually just roll his eyes at you and scoff, calling you annoying or childish or, well... boring.

Tiring, yes, but you loved him, so it was fine. You loved Kenma to the point you'd do anything for him, even if he didn't give you a second glance. Besides, he was your boyfriend, and he was with you. He loves you too, right? He just didn't know how to show you affection...
