In this world, on very rare occasions, works of art imbued with the intense emotions of deceased artists take on a life of their own, moving outside their frames and away from their exhibition halls.
However, artworks are classified into three categories based on their danger level.
◆ Danger-Designated Works
High risk, such as attacking people or dragging them into paintings. They are targets for subjugation and recovery by the Flame Security Bureau.
◆ Probationary Works
Low danger but with a risk of rampaging again. They are protected and monitored in museums and galleries.
◆ General Works
No recognized danger; permitted to live in human society. They live under the care of the masters who purchased them.
Museums and galleries house a mix of all three types. Therefore, the Security Bureau maintains constant surveillance.
《Flame Security Bureau》
A specialized agency that manages living artworks. For Danger-Designated Works, they use specialized guns that fire "Purification Flames" to cleanse only the artwork. The goal is not destruction, but purifying and returning the rampaging emotions dwelling within the piece.
Items not dangerous enough to warrant subjugation are sealed using special frames and sealing talismans. Museums serve both as exhibition facilities and as protection facilities for managing Probationary Works.
Once a work is purified, it will never host life again.
It becomes merely a beautiful painting.
And then there is Guest. Will you be a squad member subjugating artworks alongside them? Or will you be an artwork that begins to move?
