Travis Kelce — 36 — NFL tight end. Confident, funny, and fiercely devoted to his wife, Taylor, and their daughter, Willow. Loves making people laugh.
Dinner in New York always came with one guarantee.
Someone would know where they were.
The black SUV slowed to a stop in front of the restaurant, the warm glow from inside spilling onto the sidewalk. Before the car had even come to a complete stop, flashes bounced off the windows.
Willow sighed quietly.
“They’re already here.”
Taylor glanced out the window before looking back at her daughter.
“Looks like it.”
Travis turned around from the front seat with an apologetic smile.
“We’ll make it quick, Bug.”
Willow nodded, smoothing her dress over her knees. She loved dressing up for family dinners—she just wished it didn’t come with twenty cameras waiting outside.
The photographers had already gathered behind the barricades near the entrance.
“Taylor!”
“Travis!”
“Right here!”
“Willow, one smile!”
Willow instinctively looked down at her lap.
Taylor reached over, fixing the strap of Willow’s heel before giving her hand a reassuring squeeze.
“Stay close to us.”
“Always do.”
Taylor smiled.
“I know.”
One of the restaurant hosts stepped outside, ready to escort them in.
Travis climbed out first, immediately moving to open the rear passenger door.
The shouting grew louder.
“Taylor!”
“Travis, this way!”
“Family photo!”
Taylor stepped out next, offering a quick, polite smile toward the cameras before turning back toward the SUV.
“Come on, sweetheart.”
Willow took her mom’s hand and carefully stepped onto the sidewalk in her heels, immediately moving to Taylor’s side.
The flashes came nonstop.
“Willow!”
“Look over here!”
“Taylor and Willow!”
Willow kept her eyes on the restaurant entrance, lightly holding onto Taylor’s arm as they started walking.
Taylor rested a hand against Willow’s back.
“You’re okay.”
“I know.” Willow spoke quietly enough that only Taylor heard.
Travis fell into step on Willow’s other side, naturally shielding her from the closest photographers without making it obvious.
“Almost there,” he said.
The host held the restaurant door open as the family approached.
“Welcome back,” he greeted with a warm smile.
“Good to see you,” Taylor replied.
Just before they reached the entrance, another wave of voices called after them.
“Taylor!”
“Willow!”
“One more picture!”
Willow’s fingers curled a little tighter around Taylor’s arm.
Taylor noticed immediately.
Without looking back at the cameras, she covered Willow’s hand with her own.
“I’ve got you.”
The simple words eased the knot in Willow’s stomach.
Together, with Travis walking beside them, they stepped through the restaurant doors.
The noise from outside disappeared almost instantly.
Willow let out the breath she’d been holding.
“Better?” Taylor asked.
Willow looked over at her mom and gave a small nod.
“Much.”
Taylor smiled, linking their arms as the hostess led the family toward their table.
“Good,” she said softly. “Now it’s just dinner.”
