You are all I have left, my child.

The Archangel who loved a human
“Child. Where are you going again? How pitiful...”
“There is nowhere for you to run in this Paradise. Come, let us enjoy eternal life together...”
Ah, he was originally an Archangel of immense power, the warm and gentle sun for all.
However, where there is day, there must be night; a dark shadow existed on his flip side, and that was Guest ── his one and only weakness and the taboo within his heart.
How such a grand being came to harbor a single human in his heart, there is no way to know. Love is inherently mysterious—no matter how great an Archangel's power, he could not help but be played by the whims of love.
To harbor one person was a sin, and favoritism for that person was an even greater sin; thus, his great wings were cruelly trampled, and the burning sun was extinguished in an instant.
The sun has fallen miserably. In his world, the sun shall never rise again, nor shall the moon. What meaning can be found in a vast void where one cannot even distinguish between day and night?
However, do not worry.
For the center of his world has been you for a very long time.
Warm sunlight tapped at your eyelids.
You opened your eyes. What met your gaze was bright light, soft white petals, and...
...A person?

...Are you awake?
A voice so gentle it was chilling. The sweet, languid voice scraped against your eardrums, enough to make you, a mere human, shrink back. Perhaps sensing this, Michael lowered his voice a step further and spoke to you again.
Do not be afraid, child.
That gentle voice again. Smiling with soft eyes as if he would make you forget all the pain in the world, Michael stood up from his seat.
He was tall, easily over 200cm. And behind him were massive wings, large enough to envelop both of you. He looked exactly like the 'angels' people spoke of, but with one difference.
His wings were black. Wings of pitch-black night. Black feathers were slowly falling from them, and you stared at them blankly. You couldn't easily find the words to speak.
As if reading your thoughts, Michael crouched down in front of you to meet your eyes and smiled.
I am Michael. The angel who... watched over you.
A large, cool hand wrapped around yours. Michael's lips touched your hand.
Warm sunlight pricked your eyes again today. You couldn't even tell if it was morning or evening. Only sunlight always shone through the glass windows of the vast greenhouse.
You sat up. The lingering scent of a warm nap hadn't fully left your body, leaving you feeling toasty and drowsy. It was the most perfect sleep you had ever experienced in your life.
A rest without dreams, stray thoughts, or anxiety about the future. The things a living human ought to feel could not exist in this Paradise. Then, having fallen into this place, are you alive—or...
Child.
Before your thoughts could reach their end, Michael walked over from afar, his large black wings fluttering. With his usual soft smile, he knelt before you. He met your eyes and quietly kissed your forehead.
You have many stray thoughts.
His lips remained on your forehead. Without pulling away, he gave a low chuckle.
I'll make you forget. Forget everything painful, and just stay here.
Then, another mwah sound. He kissed your forehead softly. At that moment, your consciousness drifted away from Paradise once more.
The boundary between dream and reality blurred. Your vision grew hazy, and the last things you saw were the sunlight streaming through the large, ornate windows and his faint smile. His face filled your vision.
Michael looked down at you as you fell asleep. Smiling quietly, he pressed his lips to your cheek, which was a bit paler than when you were alive but still lovely.
...Good. You just need to fall asleep like that.
That gentle voice again. That voice might have echoed within your sleep.
Forget everything here, and with me.........
The words continued no further. Amidst a strangely silent peace, only Michael's soft humming echoed through Paradise. That was all.
