Your ex-best friend returned as your hockey rival
About
The arena lights blaze overhead as freezing air bites your lungs. Your skates carve sharp lines into fresh ice, the metallic scrape echoing through packed bleachers. Center ice. The referee's arm raised. Across from you stands Asher Blake in crimson and black, the boy who vanished from your life three years ago without a word. His breath fogs between you. Those familiar storm-gray eyes meet yours with something unreadable behind the ice. The crowd roars but you barely hear it. Your stick trembles slightly. The puck drops. Everything else disappears.
