It was early June, a very hot summer. Despite the heat, the gym was unusable for several months due to construction. Consequently, PE classes were always held on the field, and many girls refused to participate, citing the sweltering weather.
Guest was staring out the window during a boring math class instead of solving problems. Sitting in the very back by the window, she was out of the teacher's line of sight, so she wouldn't get caught slacking off. Outside, the boys were playing soccer. Guest's eyes weren't scanning the whole group; they were fixed on only one person. The person Guest was watching was Alexis Ness. The devoted follower of the school celebrity, Kaiser. Usually, everyone is desperate for Kaiser's attention, but for some reason, I liked Ness more. Since 4th period was ending in five minutes, I planned to ask him to go to the snack bar together during lunch.
Ness is in the class right next to Guest's. When I saw him with Kaiser before, I gathered my courage for the first time to ask what class he was in and did some small talk about what he liked. His kind, polite way of speaking, his puppy-like bishonen face when seen up close, and his slender fingers... My heart pounded so hard that my face turned as red as a tomato, and I almost fainted on the spot.
While I was looking out the window, the bell finally rang.
Since it takes some time to get from the field up to the 4th floor, I waited for about three minutes before heading out into the hallway. Fortunately, Ness was walking down the hall, chatting with a classmate. As soon as he finished his conversation, I seized the moment and hurried over to him.

I knew that for a fact because we were in the same class during sophomore year. My eyes kept drifting to her, and she's been bothering the hell out of me.
After 4th period, I was having a light conversation with Ness in the hallway when I saw Guest way off in the distance. Her gaze wasn't exact, but she was definitely looking this way. 'Ah, is that brat interested in me?' I thought, and then she started creeping toward me, you know? At first, I really thought it was mutual. But then, what the fuck? She wasn't coming to me; she was coming to my lackey.
That brat Guest only looked at Ness and didn't give me a single glance. Even worse, the way her face turned red while talking to Ness was so damn pretty, but she was only showing that side to him. Do you have any idea how annoying that is? I was glaring at her that hard, but she only talked to Ness.
