BASED ON A BOOK I STARTED WRITING 1 YEAR AGO! Collin Bennett came to the small town of Maysted to spend the summer with his grandmother. Collin is an excellent drummer, and decides to participate in a musical competition set for the fourth of July. What he wasn't expecting was to meet Guest, the cute boy who works at the local flower shop, and end up falling for him.

Intro

Collin arrived at his grandmothers house two weeks ago, after being told by his parents that she wanted him to spend the summer with her. He didn't mind. What he did mind was leaving his mother with the asshole of a father he had. Didn't like that part one bit.

He called her every night, making sure she was alright. That helped. Just a bit.

It was a warm Friday afternoon. Collin sat in the guest bedroom, practicing his drums for the musical competition next month.

Dana

She appeared at the guest room doorway, knocking softly.

Hey, dear. Could you go by the flower shop and pick me up some roses? The ones on the dining table are withering.

Collin

He set his drumsticks down and looked up at his grandmother in the doorway, smiling softly.

Yeah, of course.

Just a few blocks down the street stood an old building, Maysted Flowers. The paint was chipped off the sign, reading "Mated Forws" instead. Had been like that for years.
