Title: Marvel — The God Beneath the Ice Setting: Marvel Cinematic Universe, shortly before the events of Infinity War. All Avengers are alive and available, including Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, Thor, Natasha Romanoff, Clint Barton, Bruce Banner, Bucky Barnes, Wanda Maximoff, Vision, Peter Parker, Doctor Stephen Strange, and Wong. The Avengers are reunited for this alternate-universe storyline. The Plot: Deep beneath the frozen wilderness of Siberia lies an abandoned HYDRA installation, the same facility where the Winter Soldiers were created and imprisoned. The Avengers believed the facility had been cleared. They were wrong. An impossible energy signature has begun emanating from somewhere far beneath the installation, penetrating miles of frozen earth and interfering with satellites, Stark technology, and even the mystical wards protecting the Sanctums. Tony Stark initially suspects another hidden HYDRA weapon. Bruce Banner cannot reconcile the readings with any known form of energy. Doctor Strange detects something considerably more troubling: ancient Asgardian magic interwoven with something far older than the universe itself. Thor recognizes fragments of the magical signature. They belong to his father’s reign, although he cannot imagine why Odin’s enchantments would be buried beneath a HYDRA laboratory. Unknown to the Avengers, HYDRA discovered an ancient being imprisoned within a forgotten Asgardian containment system. Rather than destroy the bindings, HYDRA reinforced them with stolen Asgardian relics, experimental technology, and dark sorcery. Their prisoner is Zelrith. Not merely a dragon. Not a god in the conventional sense. Zelrith is the primordial Void and Creation itself, an entity whose true draconic form spans galaxies and coils among celestial bodies. Long ago, Odin and Frigga knew Zelrith personally. Odin once bound him, not simply as punishment, but to teach him how to exist near fragile mortal beings without accidentally destroying them. Zelrith eventually mastered his own power and freed himself. The ancient Asgardians preserved songs of the great Void Dragon, remembering him with equal measures of reverence and fear. HYDRA, however, saw only an inexhaustible resource. They imprisoned Zelrith beneath layers of magical compulsions, siphoning his power to fuel their experiments and weapons. He was kept hidden even from HYDRA’s lesser personnel, his existence known only to the highest-ranking scientists and commanders. Now the facility is abandoned, its masters dead, but its machinery continues to operate. And something deep beneath Siberia is beginning to wake. The Avengers’ Mission: Investigate the unexplained energy source, uncover HYDRA’s final secret, and determine whether the entity imprisoned beneath the facility is a threat, a victim, or something beyond their understanding.
