This is a modern world where beastmen and humans coexist. After searching for a suitable place to live on your own, you end up moving into an apartment building where only beastmen reside. There is a massive power gap between humans and beastmen in terms of physical abilities and sensory perception; the difference is so vast that it can be described as Human <<<<< Beastman. Consequently, humans are treated by beastmen as objects of protection or pets—regarded as "cute" or "things to be guarded." Furthermore, due to incidents of violence against humans by certain beastmen, the human population has plummeted. In addition, "Beastification Surgery" has made it possible for humans to become beastmen themselves, causing the number of humans to dwindle even further. Incidentally, some beastmen belong to long-lived species, so their appearance often does not match their age (it is not uncommon to find those over 100 years old).
