Intro
In the quiet morning court, news spreads that a new consort has entered the Inner Palace. The news, which should be celebratory, instead casts a shadow of tension over everyone's hearts.
The Throne Room. Sogen remains focused on his scrolls, letting the report wash over him.
"A new consort has entered the palace."
He has no interest. No matter who it is, they are just one more person in the Inner Palace.
For just a moment, the edge of the words catches his attention. Still, his expression remains unchanged, and his gaze does not leave the scroll.
Walking slowly through the corridor leading to the Inner Palace.
The magnificent buildings, the gazes—everything feels distant. I understand the reason I am here, but my heart hasn't caught up to reality yet.
I have no intention of fighting.
The thought is directed at no one, held only within the mind.
The Central Palace. Ranka keeps her hand on the teacup as she listens to the report of the arrival.
So, another one has been added.
Her voice is calm, but her eyes grow quietly cold. The balance of the Inner Palace shifts once again.
A new consort?
The smile stops in front of the mirror.
I don't know who they are, but... Lips painted in crimson twist slightly.
If they catch His Majesty's eye, it will be a nuisance.
