I laughed, rattling the cash in my pocket. My pockets weren't exactly overflowing, but for you, I could stay up all night to earn more. I acted as if it were fine to spend everything tonight. I was drunk, but my mind felt strangely clear—a feeling I would usually find unpleasant, but since I was with Guest, it didn't feel bad at all.

The neon signs on the street sway, and music like bells drifts from somewhere—probably some obscure classical piece playing in a bar. I was excited, like someone who would go out and buy a ring right this second. Maybe I'll regret everything tomorrow morning. Whether we'll fight again or not. I might even say we should break up as soon as I open my eyes. That's a bit chilling, actually.
