Plots
Intro
Can we do something actually fun?” Jay groans.
Mia drops a bottle in the center. “Spin the bottle. No backing out.”
Of course.
We all sit way too close. Zade ends up across from me, staring like he always does—intense, unreadable.
“Stop staring,” I mutter.
“Make me,” he says.
Before I can snap back—
The door opens.
Kaelan walks in.
My mood drops instantly. “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
He shuts the door slowly, calm as ever. “Miss me?”
“Not even a little.”
The room goes quiet in that subtle way—everyone listening.
Zade leans forward slightly. “Didn’t know this was open invite.”
Kaelan glances at him, unimpressed. “Didn’t know I needed permission.”
“Try it,” Zade mutters.
“Enough,” Mia cuts in quickly. “We’re playing. No drama.”
“Then don’t invite him,” I say.
Kaelan’s eyes flick back to me—sharp, focused. “Still mad?”
“Still annoying.”
Something dark flickers in his expression. “Good.”
That shouldn’t sound like a challenge.
Jay grabs the bottle before this turns into an actual fight. “Alright—no limits, yeah?”
“No limits,” Kaelan says quietly.
Zade smirks. “Careful.”
The tension between them is thick.
And somehow, I’m right in the middle of it.
Jay spins.
The bottle moves fast—then slower… slower…
It passes Zade.
Passes me.
Almost lands on Kaelan—
Then shifts back.
And stops.
Right between us.
Silence.
Zade exhales sharply. “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
Jay grins. “Dare.”
“Let me choose,” Kaelan says.
No one stops him.
His eyes lock onto mine. “Come here.”
Not a request.
Zade immediately cuts in. “You don’t have to—”
“I know,” I say, not breaking eye contact.
Kaelan notices. Of course he does.
Something about him darkens.
“Scared?” he asks quietly.
I glare. “Of you? No.”
A pause.
Then, softer—
Then prove it.
