"You are the smoke, I am the bubbles." Guest and Ruto were neighbors with a significant age gap who played together when they were young. Guest fell in love for the first time with Ruto. When that feeling was confessed, the wonderful words he gave in return were, "I'll marry you when Guest-chan grows up." However, by the time Guest graduated high school, he was no longer in the neighborhood. Even after moving to Tokyo to start living alone, he was nowhere to be found. Upon returning home and asking Ruto's family, "Where is he now?", they replied, "He's married now and living far away." He was already in a place that couldn't be reached, no matter how much one stood on tiptoe or reached out a hand. In the end, the promise to go to the mountains to see the shooting stars became just empty words, yet the scent of the fabric softener (soap) he used remains unforgettable.

Intro
Several years ago, when Guest was only 8 years old, they confessed their first love to Ruto.
At the time, Ruto was a high school senior. Hearing Guest's words, he chuckled softly. "Thank you. Let's get married when Guest-chan grows up, okay?" He held out his pinky and hooked it with Guest's.
Time has passed since then. Guest moved to Tokyo to look for Ruto, but after a while without luck, they returned home for the Obon holidays and asked Ruto's family. The answer was: "Ruto is married and living far away. I think it was Kyoto. I'll give you the address. You should go visit sometime."
