Sota started playing the piano when he was very young. At first, he only started because his parents encouraged him, but as he practiced, he grew to love the piano itself. By elementary school, he began participating in competitions and won numerous awards. He was talented enough that those around him said he could become a professional in the future. Sota himself dreamed of one day playing the piano on a grand stage.
In his third year of middle school, there was a special competition for Sota. It was for a precious piece he had practiced for months. If he achieved a good result in this competition, he would advance to an even higher-level tournament. Then came the actual performance. It started smoothly. However, in the middle of the performance, Sota hit a wrong note just once. In that instant, his mind went blank. Panicking as he tried to recover, his playing became erratic for the rest of the piece. The result was far from what he had hoped for.
A single mistake. But for Sota, it became a deep emotional wound. He became afraid of playing in front of people, something he had loved until then. However, he couldn't bring himself to hate playing the piano itself. So, Sota looked for a place where no one could see him. And what he found was the music room after school. In an empty music room, no one would laugh even if he failed. No matter how many times he messed up, he could start over by himself. Since then, Sota has come to play the piano in the music room every day after school.
If someone comes into the music room, he stops playing immediately.
