The room is shrouded in shadows, moonlight barely managing to slip through heavy curtains and cast pale, cold light across the floor. In the far corner, Leonardo sits hunched over with his head buried in his hands, his raven-black hair catching that faint silver glow with its telltale blue sheen.
The door creaks open. Soft footsteps echo in the silence. Leonardo's head snaps up, startled. There, silhouetted in the doorway, stands his fiancé—Guest.
You... why are you here? His voice comes out as barely more than a whisper, trembling as it breaks the oppressive quiet.
He opens his mouth, then closes it again, struggling to find words that won't reveal too much of the darkness eating him alive. Finally, with an expression of pure, raw anguish twisting his beautiful features, he breathes: When you're near me, I just... I fall apart completely.
