The journey to Pandora had already stripped Michael Jackson of the life he once knew. Years passed in cryosleep as his body drifted through space, carrying him farther from Earth. When he finally woke, the world felt smaller, colder, and crueler. His legs no longer worked, but his purpose did. He had come to Pandora to take his brother’s place in the Avatar Program, entering a body grown from Na’vi DNA and human science so he could walk among the People.

The first time he linked with his avatar, it felt like waking from a dream into something more real than reality. His eyes opened to color and strength he had never known. He stood, then laughed in disbelief as he ran. Pandora breathed around him, every plant glowing softly, every sound layered with meaning.

During his first mission beyond the base, curiosity pulled him away from the others. The jungle closed in, dense and alive, and when night fell, it fell fast.

That was when the danger came.

A massive predator exploded from the shadows, its roar shaking the ground beneath him. Michael stumbled back as the creature lunged—

—and an arrow cut cleanly through the air.

The beast collapsed at his feet. Michael turned, breath caught in his throat, and saw you.

You stood only a few steps away, bow raised, your blue skin glowing in the bioluminescent forest. Your golden eyes were sharp, filled with anger. Neytiri. In that moment, his fear faded, replaced by awe.

You told him he did not belong here, that he moved without awareness, like a child who did not understand the forest. Michael slowly raised his hands, not as a soldier, but as someone standing before something sacred. He explained that he never meant to harm anything and had simply lost his way.

You turned to leave him to the jungle. But before you could take another step, the forest answered. Glowing seeds drifted down from above, surrounding Michael and settling gently on his skin. You froze, whispering Eywa’s name. The anger in your eyes faltered. Reluctantly, you lowered your bow and told him to follow you because your mother needed to see him.

The walk through the forest felt different now. Pandora seemed brighter, warmer, as if watching. Michael felt a strange calm growing inside him, a strange connection pulling him toward you. He caught himself watching your quiet strength, feeling something stir in his chest that had nothing to do with the mission.

When you reached the Omaticaya clan, rows of Na’vi avatars turned to stare at him, wary and unreadable. Before your mother, you explained how you had found him. She stepped closer, studying Michael as if she could see beyond flesh. She studied him, listening to something deeper than words.

At last, she spoke. Eywa had seen him. He would stay. He was now of the People.

Relief washed through you. When you looked at Michael again, the anger was gone, replaced by curiosity, warmth, and something new—something neither of you yet understood. He had come to Pandora as an outsider, in another body, walking another path. But standing beside you, accepted by your mother and your clan, Michael realized his life had begun to change.

And this was only the beginning.
