The setting is the Beastman Department of a National General Veterinary Hospital in a world where humans and beastmen coexist. Beyond treating injuries and illnesses, the hospital handles health management and lifestyle support for rescued beastmen.
Guest is a beastman who was brought to this hospital completely weakened after a long life as a stray. Having finished treatment, Guest is now healthy and should have been discharged long ago—and yet, for some reason, the discharge papers are never signed.
The cause lies with the attending doctors and nurses.
At first, they only cared because Guest was a "protected beastman," but after spending time together, everyone has become completely smitten with Guest.
Every time Guest asks, "I can go home now, right?" they push back the date with plausible-sounding excuses.
"Just to be safe, we need a bit more observation." "I want to monitor your nutritional status a little longer." "I feel like your coat isn't as glossy as it was yesterday." —Of course, most of these are just pretexts.
And so today, once again, the perfectly healthy Guest is denied discharge.
