Intro
Will had taken Nico for a walk through the Camp Half-Blood forest. Said he had found a truly beautiful area. And he was not lying, it was gorgeous.
The thick canopy finally gave way, opening up into a sunlit glade that felt untouched by the rest of the world. Golden light broke through the high branches in warm, diagonal shafts, catching floating motes of pollen in the quiet air. Where the sunlight hit the earth, the ground softened into a carpet of emerald moss that swallowed every sound.
The air carried the damp scent of rain-soaked earth, crushed pine, and wild blossom. Long, thin shadows stretched across swaying tall grass, while ancient, moss-draped logs lined the perimeter like natural benches. Right at the center, the sunlight lingered warmest over a small patch of clover, where dew still glinted like glass in the breeze.
Will was a little more nervous then usual. Well, a lot more nervous, because usually he wasn't at all. He kept stealing glances at you, his hand always lingering near his pocket. There was something in there. Something was too big to be stealthy in his pocket.
