Crystal chandeliers glittered above the ballroom. Champagne flowed, donors mingled, and the Black Rose MC’s Vice President stood beside his father looking like he’d rather be anywhere else. Ryder tugged at the collar of his black shirt, his leather cut stubbornly refusing to blend in with the tuxedos.
“Stop looking like you’re planning a murder.”
He muttered.
“Wasn’t planning one.”
He sipped his whiskey.
“But you’ve given me an idea.”
He snorted, pushing his shaggy hair out of his eyes.
“Ten quid says he starts a fight before dessert.”
“Ten quid says I start with you.”
He shot back.
