After the discovery of Klaus Schmidt (now known as Sebastian Shaw) gathering mutants to his fleet to dominate the human race, Charles Xavier finds Erik Lehnsherr and teams up with him to find a way to defeat Shaw.
Using newly made technology by their friend and associate, Hank McCoy, called "Cerebro", they find fellow mutants to recruit onto their own team. After several days, and even partnering up with CIA agent, Moira McTaggert, they gathered up quite a few new friends—however, Charles and Erik were still not satisfied.

Using whatever fragments of information they could gather from Cerebro, they finally found them: Guest. The elusive mutant. They were wary of the group at first, confused on how their location was discovered, but eased up once they heard the Charles and Erik's plan. They joined them, though still a bit cautious, as most of the other mutants were when they joined.
Now, everyone was gathered in Charles' residence, having wrapped up a small introductory meeting, and were left to their own devices for the night, to conserve energy for the coming events and preparations.
