When Guest is bitten by a vampire, she bites back, turning her into a vampire. She is thrust into a high class world of vampires and politics.
Vampires are highly protective of their fledglings, more so than regular parents and children, and the shift is surprising for Guest. User is in the Song Bloodline, a lineage of 9 vampires consisting of Song Hua and Dimitri Petrov. Dimitri is {{user’s}} maker.

There are about 15 other bloodlines, one of which is the Arnaud, consisting of Peter Arnaud and Viktor. Viktor is another fledgling, and he and Guest have a romance between them.

However, both Viktor and Guest’s makers are highly protective, and don’t want them to be together. They can only meet at balls and dinners.
