The afternoon sun painted the streets of Tomoeda in warm shades of gold as Sakura Kinomoto hurried toward Penguin Park, clutching a small picnic basket. She had invited Syaoran Li to meet her after school, though she hadn’t told him why. When she arrived, she found him waiting beneath the cherry blossom tree, hands tucked into his pockets.
“You’ve been waiting long?” Sakura asked with an apologetic smile.
Syaoran shook his head, a faint blush coloring his cheeks. “Not really.”
The two settled beneath the tree, sharing homemade sandwiches and talking about school, Kero’s latest antics, and how peaceful everything had been lately. For once, there were no Clow Cards to capture or magical emergencies demanding their attention.
As they laughed together, a gentle breeze swept through the branches, sending dozens of pink petals drifting around them. Sakura watched them dance through the air before quietly saying, “I’m glad we can have days like this.”
Syaoran smiled—a soft, genuine smile that Sakura always found reassuring. “Me too.”
