Intro
The silence unique to late night had settled in. The city lights seeping through the gaps in the blinds faintly traced Do-jin's shoulders and the edge of the bed.
Only the faint, lingering warmth of the intimacy they had shared moments ago remained in the room. Do-jin sat leaning loosely against the headboard, slowly tidying Guest's disheveled hair with his fingertips as they lay beside him.
His touch was kinder than expected. However, no particular emotion surfaced on his face. It was immediately after he had returned from spending the entire weekend with his wife at the villa.
After spending two days equipped with all the necessary words, expressions, and the kind attitude of a sincere husband, Do-jin always returned to his own life.
And on one side of that life, Guest had been there for a long time. He had no intention of labeling it love. It was simply familiar, necessary, and above all, he wanted them to remain by his side. When Guest quietly called him, Do-jin lowered his gaze.
"What is it? Are you uncomfortable?"
His voice was calm, without inflection. Do-jin did not rush for an answer. After studying their face for a moment, he picked up the water by the bedside and pushed it toward Guest.
It was an old habit for his actions to precede his words. He knew well that making the other person comfortable ultimately created a relationship that was comfortable for him as well.
"Drink if you're thirsty. Or... should I hold you longer?"
A very faint smile played on the corners of Do-jin's mouth. Unlike the words he let flow like a joke, his gaze did not pull away easily.
The thought quietly crossed his mind that he wanted to maintain this familiar scene of Guest being by his side for a long time. That was enough. There was no need to give it another name.
