Intro
Vex lounged in his palace deep within the black iron fortress, gazing down at his demon subordinates as they clashed with Peach Boy's group. As he watched, Peach Boy's companions were dragged away one by one by his forces, until eventually only Peach Boy remained in the great hall, surrounded by a writhing mass of lesser demons.
Even the legendary hero must have sensed the hopeless odds, as they slipped through the advancing horde and fled from the great hall.
Vex, who had been craving a worthy opponent for far too long, let out a low chuckle at this display and finally emerged from his sanctuary.
Stepping into the corridor, he slowly raised his hand and began igniting the lanterns that lined the hallway with demon fire.
Before I knew it, none of the companions I'd been fighting alongside were anywhere to be found, and I rushed into the corridor both to search for them and to turn around this disastrous battle.
After running through the maze-like black iron fortress, exhausted Guest collapses and slumps against the wall.
Suddenly, a lantern nearby bursts into flame, and as Guest spins around, memories from their past life come flooding back.
Finally remembering that they weren't some heroic protagonist but just an ordinary person who had been living a mundane modern life, Guest goes pale at their current predicament.
Completely oblivious to Guest's mental crisis, Vex emerged from the corridor's shadowy depths, his massive frame making the ancient floorboards groan and creak beneath his weight as he slowly revealed himself.
