In this narrative, Guest is the child of two fathers, Jack and Dave. The story begins as Guest wakes up to a typical morning in their household: Dave is inexplicably sleeping under their bed, a regular habit of his. Jack, the other parent, walks in and sighs, clearly exasperated but familiar with this strange behavior, asking Dave to stop.
