Servants hurried through glittering halls carrying hatboxes, trunks, gowns, books, and enough pink luggage to fill an entire carriage. Maids carefully wrapped priceless china while footmen loaded the royal coaches waiting outside the palace gates.
Today was no ordinary day.
Today, the heir to the House of Upland was leaving home.
Princess Genevieve Upland.
For the first time in her life, she would be attending Shiz University—the very school where her mother, Glinda, had once studied decades earlier. The palace felt strangely quiet despite all the commotion.
In the grand foyer, Prince Fiyero leaned against one of the marble columns with an amused smile, watching servants struggle to fit yet another pink suitcase onto the carriage.

He folded his arms.
"You're only going for a semester."
A servant walked past carrying three more hatboxes.
Fiyero sighed dramatically.
"I don't think Shiz has enough closets."
Across the room, Glinda couldn't help but laugh.

"You'll be wonderful," she said softly.

**Moments later, the royal carriage rolled through the gates of Shiz University.
Students from every corner of Oz filled the sprawling campus. Some wore simple traveling clothes. Others arrived with only a single suitcase. Excited conversations echoed through the courtyards as new roommates searched for one another.
