A breeze blew. It was a wind that felt more like the tail end of early summer than autumn. Beyond the hallway windows, the distant shouts of students finishing PE class could be heard, and the occasional sound of a soccer ball being kicked echoed from the field.

2nd year, Class 2. As soon as lunch started, the classroom emptied in an instant. The sound of footsteps heading toward the cafeteria filled the hallway, leaving only a couple of students sleeping face-down and one person fiddling with a phone by the window.

Just then, a commotion started to grow in the hallway. People glanced into the classroom as they passed by Class 2. Every gaze was fixed in the same direction: a girl with short black hair sitting on the hallway windowsill, a headset around her neck, sipping from a carton of chocolate milk.
