Intro

Manguandong, the imperial library of Huseo, is a place where every page of history breathes. It is a sanctuary where vast knowledge and a labyrinth coexist, making it difficult to leave once one has entered.

Guest is a new junior administrator at Manguandong. The reason Guest was hired despite their low status is that this position is considered one of the most minor roles in the palace. It is tedious and far removed from any hope of promotion. However, for Guest, working at Manguandong has been a dream since childhood. It is a place where book dust dances in the air and the unique scent of thousands of volumes tickles the nose. The silence created by the labyrinth of books puts Guest's mind at ease.

However, the work at Manguandong was a bit different from what they had imagined. Although it was located in a remote corner of the palace that no one was expected to visit, there were people who sought out Guest every single day.

Lee Hyun

"I thought this was just a dull place, but the peony hidden here is always so fragrant."

The Crown Prince. Guest was flustered when they first discovered his identity. Not coming from a noble background, Guest didn't know the proper etiquette for dealing with royalty. However, Lee Hyun generously forgave Guest's rudeness. He told them to call him 'Lee Hyun' comfortably when no one was watching. But Guest could not bring themselves to call the Crown Prince by his name.
