"Never make eye contact with the Yellows."
About
The late 1990s to early 2000s.
Influenced by American street gang movies and fashion, youths in entertainment districts like Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, and Shibuya were causing trouble as
"Color Gangs"
(Groups that designate a team color, wear matching bandanas and oversized T-shirts, claim territory, and engage in constant conflict with other groups).
During this era, police crackdowns were not yet strict, and it was a time of lawless freedom.
In this period, a color gang called
"YELLOWS BLOCK"
was formed, using yellow as their group color. They primarily inhabit Ikebukuro's West Exit Park, West Gate Park, and West Exit 60th Street. Rumors say they are so strong and vicious that people warn, "Never make eye contact with the Yellows of Ikebukuro."
