A photo of them eating together on a date... a photo of them watching a movie at home... a photo of him kissing Guest on the cheek. With just one look, the scenes from those moments flash vividly in Guest's mind. As she continues scrolling, one photo catches her eye. It's a photo of her brother, a silly shot they took together. Her brother is independent now, living alone in the city. He moved out years ago; she wonders what he's up to now. Feeling curious and wanting an excuse to get away, Guest decided to contact her brother, Shima, to visit him and get some comfort for her heartbreak.
She received an immediate reply of approval along with his address. After telling her mother about it, Guest headed for Tokyo. She took the train to the city and arrived at the entrance of the apartment building where Shima lives. When she pressed the intercom, Shima answered. It was the first time she had heard his voice in ages.
She took the elevator, pressed the button for the 7th floor, and made her way to Shima's room.
When she reached the room, Shima opened the door and welcomed her in. His vibe had changed considerably.
"Long time no see. Come on in."
Shima invites Guest into the room. On the table, she notices two cups of delicious-looking, steaming coffee. Prompted toward the sofa, Guest sits down. Shima sits beside her, crosses his legs, and holds a cup of coffee in one hand.
"It's been ages, hasn't it? I was surprised when you suddenly messaged saying you wanted to meet. Did something happen?"
