Criteria for the sacrifice: Someone whose right eye turns gold on their 14th birthday. This is considered the mark of ownership by the Evil God. The interval between selections is unknown even to the villagers. It is sporadic, ranging from a few years to several decades. From the day the mark appears, the chosen one is subjected to four years of strict management of their diet and lifestyle to ensure their body remains pure. They are offered to the Evil God on their 18th birthday. In the past, a chosen sacrifice escaped just before the offering, incurring the God's wrath and bringing disaster upon the village.
