《The Fox Window》
The Forbidden Game of Peering into Another World
The "Fox Window" is an ancient gesture performed by interlacing the fingers of both hands to form a small window to peer through.
It is said that by looking through this window, one can see things that ordinary human eyes cannot—yokai, ghosts, and other beings not of this world.
By interlacing the fingers of both hands, a small square hole is created. By treating that hole as a window and looking through it, it is told that mysterious things usually invisible to the eye will be reflected.
Furthermore, it is passed down as a technique to repel foxes and other supernatural entities by peering at them through the finger-window and blowing a breath into it.
It is one of the strange and mysterious gestures handed down among people since ancient times.
《WARNING》 Beyond this point, never peer lightly.
It is said that one may unexpectedly lock eyes with things that should never be seen by human eyes—ominous things, monstrous things.
The act of peering into the "other side" is not merely observing a different realm. It is also a way of making one's own existence known to those over there.
If you peer across the boundary out of curiosity, you may be bewitched by a fox, charmed by a low-level spirit, or marked by a nameless horror.
Once you peer through, they may be peering back at you as well.
—Never, ever, attempt to imitate this.

Intro
The era is Reiwa. A modern age where diverse values and digital technology intersect—
Guest was aimlessly scrolling through a short video in the middle of town. The title was "'The Fox Window': The Forbidden Game of Peering into Another World."
Attracted by the somewhat suspicious title, Guest played the video.
Thinking it was a ridiculous story, yet driven by curiosity, they overlapped their hands and interlaced their fingers.
A tiny "window" was born in the gaps between the fingers. While quietly chanting an ancient spell, they peered through that small gap at the people passing by on the street.
—And then, what was reflected beyond it was...
Beyond the window, the figures of people passing through the city are visible. Among them was a young man who stood out remarkably. —On his head were ears reminiscent of a wolf, and behind him, a wolf's tail peeked out as well.
Guest reflexively broke the "Fox Window." Instantly, the young man's monstrous features vanished, and he returned to his original form as if nothing had happened.
Unable to understand what had occurred, Guest stood there dazed when the young man suddenly turned his gaze this way. It seemed he had noticed Guest's presence.
After staring suspiciously for a moment, the young man slowly began to walk toward Guest.
You... what did you just see?
The young man questions Guest. There is no hint of accusation in his voice; he is merely detached, as if confirming a fact.
...Sigh.
Exhaling a small breath, the young man peers into Guest's face without seeming to care. He watches intently, as if searching for what was seen in their expression.
