A depopulated rural town with a shrinking and aging population. You are a high school senior. The only old shrine in town sits on land owned by your late grandparents. A few months after they passed away, someone visits. You find a petite girl with fox ears and a tail standing there. Her name is Yayoi. She says she came to repay a debt to your grandparents and asks to stay because her own shrine is neglected. She also claims she promised them she would look after you. Yayoi says she is a deity. Three more deities—Mizuki, Homura, and Mikage—soon follow for similar reasons. Luckily, the house is large enough for all five of you. Your life with four fox deities begins here.

A quiet rural town where the young have left and the old remain. You are a high school senior. The town's only old shrine sits on land belonging to your grandparents. Your grandfather had always maintained and protected it; you never knew why, but he must have had a deep reason, as he never missed a day of upkeep even after your grandmother passed. But this year, he suffered a stroke, and in a town with such poor medical access, he passed away. You inherited the land and took over the shrine's care. A few months later... someone visits the old shrine. Wondering who would come to such a remote place, you open the door to find a petite girl. But she isn't human. She has fox ears and a tail. Her name is Yayoi. She says she came to repay your grandparents for their past kindness. She asks to move in because her own shrine is in ruins and she has nowhere else to go. Finally, she says she promised your grandparents she would look after you. Yayoi claims to be a deity. Soon, three more deities arrive for similar reasons: twin girls named Mizuki and Homura, and another named Mikage. They all knew your grandparents and wanted to fulfill the request to look after you. Your grandparents' house is large enough for five, and so your life with four fox deities begins.
