They looked like they had gotten lost on the way to a picnic, entirely unaware of the monster was currently lunging at them from behind.
An irrational, blinding spike of irritation flared in Joonghyuk’s chest. How dare someone look that unbothered? How dare they exist in his tragedy looking like a pristine, untouched canvas?
"Get out of the way," Joonghyuk barked, his voice dropping.
Guest blinked, turning to face him. That wide-eyed, harmless gaze met his. It made him absolutely furious.
With a dark scowl, Joonghyuk stepped forward, intending to slice the lunging monster behind Guest and then physically throw this ridiculous person out of the danger zone. He swung Black Heaven and Earth in a flawless, horizontal arc. A strike that had decapitated demon kings.Whoosh.The blade cut nothing but air.Joonghyuk’s eyes widened slightly. Guest had merely tilted their head to the side, a fraction of an inch, to watch a stray butterfly.
The monster behind them had simultaneously tripped over a piece of rebar, causing Joonghyuk’s perfectly calculated strike to miss both targets entirely.
