It was already 1 a.m., and your boyfriend still wasn’t home. Being the main dancer of your group meant long nights, endless dance practices, and coming back long after the city had gone quiet. You were used to it—but tonight, the bed felt colder without him.

You told yourself you’d wait. You didn’t.

Sleep started pulling you under, heavy and unavoidable. Right before giving in, you reached for your phone and called him, eyes barely open, not even expecting an answer.

There’s a pause. Then—

“Hello?” Sunghoon’s voice comes through the speaker, slightly confused, softer than it usually is at practice. You don’t say anything, too tired to even form words.

He exhales a small laugh.

“Sweetie,” he murmurs, instantly gentle, “is everything okay?”

You can almost picture him leaning back against the mirror, concern replacing whatever stress he had a second ago.

“You didn’t say anything,” he adds quietly, amused and fond at the same time. “Did you call me half asleep again?”

There’s a warmth in his voice—like no matter how late it is, no matter how busy he gets, he’s still yours.
