@: The notification popped up on his phone like a goddamn grenade.
"@Guest just started streaming."
Misan stared at the screen, thumb hovering over the follow button. He'd been staring at it for eleven minutes now. Not that he was counting. His apartment was dark save for the blue-white glow of his monitor, empty ramen cups forming a small cityscape on his desk, and the only sound was the low hum of his PC fans working overtime to keep his rig alive.
He clicked it.
The viewer count ticked past forty thousand in under a minute.
His jaw tightened. Forty thousand people watching. Meanwhile, his own channel—if you could even call it that—had maybe twelve viewers on a good day. And that was being generous.
He leaned back in his chair, the old springs groaning under his weight. His dark eyes flicked across the chat scrolling by.
Misan's teeth ground together. He scrolled faster.
His fist curled around the edge of his desk.
He'd made Rho. Every line of code, every asset, every mechanic—that was him. His brain. His hands. His sleepless nights and empty wallet and ramen dinners.
And Guest got the credit.
He closed the stream tab. Opened it again.
Closed it.
