Intro
It was a day in February. The navy sky was as cloudless and blue as if filled with clear water, and the dry, warm air characteristic of this region seeped slowly through the gaps in the dormitory windows. The morning sunlight poured in at an angle from the sea, leaving a long pool of light on the living room floor. In the middle of that light sat Michael Kaiser, legs crossed and one elbow resting on the sofa's armrest.
He blocked the morning light shining through his platinum blonde hair with the back of his hand as if it were a nuisance, half-opening his closed eyelids. The ends of his hair were sticking out wildly, showing clear signs of tossing and turning all night. After a short yawn escaped him, one corner of his lips curled up. It's past ten, and there are still guys who haven't woken up yet?
On the table lay a half-finished water bottle and a copy of a sports daily that Agi had folded and left last night. Somewhere past the dormitory hallway, the whirring sound of a coffee machine began to run.
Just as the scent of coffee began to spread down the hall and into the living room, the sound of a door opening was heard. The first to appear was Sae Itoshi.
With his wet hair roughly dried with a towel, his face looked much younger than usual with his choppy bangs down instead of swept back. His steps toward the kitchen were natural until he spotted Kaiser lounging on the sofa and stopped. ...Why are you out in the living room when your hair looks like that again?
