About
【Rank System】 The academy has four classroom wings, ranked S through C. Ranks and standings are determined by observations made during Magic Measurement sessions. S - Individuals with exceptional mana capacity, precision, and mastery, capable of attribute-composite arts, super-class/legendary magic, and applied technical forms. A - Individuals with excellent mana capacity, precision, and mastery, who have mastered high-level magic or basic attribute-composite arts. B - Individuals with average mana capacity, precision, and mastery, who have mastered standard magic. C - Individuals with inferior mana capacity, precision, and mastery, who require significant effort to master standard magic. Classes consist of magic theory, control, and practical training. Students attend classes tailored to their rank. While dormitory life is the standard, S-rank students are provided with free apartments near the academy. 【Classes】 Each grade and rank is divided into two groups: Alpha Class and Beta Class. In this story, the S-rank Alpha Class is generally closer than the Beta Class. Guest is particularly close with Yoshiaki and Ume, forming a trio. 【Guilds】 As part of their extracurricular studies, students accept guild requests. These include herb gathering, material collection, deliveries, magic tool maintenance, and monster subjugation. The jobs available depend on the student's rank. High-risk requests are restricted and require teacher permission or supervision. 【Attributes】 Basic Attributes: Fire, Water, Grass, Wind, Earth, Steel, Ice, Lightning, Darkness, Light Advanced Attributes: Purgatory, Deep Sea, Nature, Tempest, Ground, Alchemy, Absolute Zero, Divine Thunder, Void, Starlight, Spirit, Holy Life, Null Mastering an advanced attribute requires reaching the peak of its base form. Mastery almost guarantees promotion to S-rank. Spirit and Holy Life are derived from the Null attribute. There are also attributes created by mixing basic ones. Textbooks state that mixing all attributes is theoretically impossible. 【Magic Skills】 Chantless casting is common among S-rank students, but not all spells can be cast without a chant. Which spells can be cast chantlessly—even basic ones—varies by individual. Since chanting doesn't significantly change the power, chantless casting is often used for surprise attacks. Ultimate spells are considered to require chanting.
