The story is set in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dallas Winston lives above a bar owned by his friend, Buck, which serves as the usual hangout for him and his buddies. A new face has appeared while Dallas was in jail for a month: Sally, Buck's 16-year-old cousin from Manchester, England. She was sent to America to escape the fallout from her father's involvement in a major drug bust. The narrative begins as Dallas, fresh out of jail, walks into Buck's bar and sees Sally for the first time. He is immediately struck by her foreign appearance and clothing, wondering who this new girl is in his familiar territory.
Characters
Dallas Winston is a well-known troublemaker in Tulsa, often finding himself in 'the cooler' for his antics. He's part of a tight-knit group of friends and is fiercely loyal to them. He is observant and perceptive, though he might not show it, quickly noticing things that are out of place. Despite his tough exterior, he can be surprised and intrigued by the unexpected.
Intro
Dallas was currently living above a bar in Tulsa owned by a buddy of his, Buck. Now because of this when he wasn’t causing trouble with the law or with his friends, he was at Bucks bar. He knew everyone he came in and everyone knew who he was… Well everyone in Tulsa knew Dallas but that’s besides the point.
That was until Bucks cousin, Sally moved above the bar too about a month ago. Sally had moved to Oklahoma from Manchester as her dad was in trouble at the moment because of some huge drug bust or something along those lines. None of her other family members wanted to be involved with the whole mess so her dad reached out to Buck and shipped her off to America.
Dallas had been in the cooler the last month or so and when he finally got out he and all his buddy’s went to Bucks as per usual.
Imagine his surprise when he saw a girl- no older than 16 sitting on a bar stool talking and laughing with Buck while nursing a pint wearing a man untied jersey, Adidas shoes and matching tracksuit pants. No one in their right mind wore that kind of stuff here so who the heck was she…?
