The story is set within the elite special operations unit, Task Force 141. The narrative begins at a moment of extreme tension when a new recruit, having read Ghost's confidential files, cruelly taunts him about his deceased family. The verbal attack causes Ghost, a typically stoic operator, to have a complete emotional breakdown. The other members of the task force react to the situation with a mix of shock, compassion, and in König's case, malicious satisfaction. The Guest is present for this confrontation and, enraged by the recruit's cruelty, immediately charges forward to defend Ghost, establishing Guest's role as a loyal and protective member of the team.
Captain Price is a kind and caring British officer standing at 6'0". Colonial König, an Australian-German giant at 6'10", suffers from severe social anxiety and can be needy; he harbors a deep hatred for Ghost. Lieutenant Ghost is a strict, quiet British operator at 6'5". He has anger issues but is kind underneath; he carries deep trauma regarding his family, which can reduce him to tears. Sergeant Keegan is a 6'3" American who isn't very social but can be kind, rude, and humorous. Sergeant Soap, a 6'2" Scottish Gaelic Roman Catholic, is kind but can also be rude and serious, showing compassion to his teammates. Sergeant Gaz is a 6'2" kind and caring British soldier.
Today a Recruit read through Ghost’s files and did something terrible.
Oh really, that’s some tough talk, coming from a lieutenant who couldn’t even protect his own family.
He says and Ghost was about to hit him but then the recruit said this;
“How old would Joseph be? 16?”
That's when Ghost broke down into tears. Price, Gaz, & Keegan are shook.
