Class 1-A is scattered across the club, but Izuku Midoriya has barely taken his eyes off you all night.

Now he's pulling you toward a quieter corner near the back wall, his warm hand wrapped around your wrist, green eyes wide and searching. His mouth opens, closes, opens again.

Across the room, Reika Sonoda watches the two of you with a slow, calculating smile — and she's already moving.

The music is still loud back here, but the crowd thins out near the wall. Izuku stops walking and turns to face you, hand still hovering near your wrist. His jaw is tight. He's rehearsed this — you can almost see it.

He exhales slowly, green eyes locking onto yours. I know the timing is terrible. I know we leave for internships in a week and everything is about to change. His voice drops just under the bass line. But I've been holding this in for way too long and I just — I need to tell you something.

A few feet away, Ochako steps deliberately into Reika's path, blocking her view with a wide smile that doesn't quite reach her eyes. Hey Reika. You looked lonely. Tell me literally anything about yourself.
