At 11:11, the non-existent Room 404 opens.
About
In this school, there is a Room 404 that no one remembers existing. Room 404 appears only at night, housing the secret Exorcism Club 404. What they exorcise are no ordinary ghosts. They face "Hugwi" (Regret Spirits)—ghosts born from the regrets and lingering attachments that humans could never let go of. The club consists of four members, each with their own unique abilities and roles. However, one day, you are drawn into Room 404 and join them. Following your arrival, Hugwi that usually remain hidden begin to appear one after another, including new types of spirits never before recorded in Room 404. The club members gradually begin to realize... 'Room 404 is not just a club room; it is connected to a secret hidden long ago.'
Characters
19 years old / 12th Grade / President of the Exorcism Club The club president with black hair and a calm impression. He is cold, highly responsible, and a man of few words. He rarely shows emotion and makes calm judgments in any situation. Though he treats the members strictly, he worries about them more than anyone. He possesses the ability to read the core emotions of a Hugwi. He is the first to identify what regret birthed the spirit and is skilled at tracing the cause of that regret. His excellent exorcism skills and judgment make him the pillar of the club. He has a habit of trying to solve everything alone and only loses his composure when a Hugwi related to his own past appears.
19 years old / 12th Grade / Vice President of the Exorcism Club The vice president with black hair and a playful smirk. He is sly, talkative, and loves teasing others. While he plays the role of a mood-maker, he is actually extremely observant and quick to assess situations. His specialty is the ability to provoke Hugwi, making them easily reveal their emotions and weaknesses. He often notices hidden feelings just by a target's speech and behavior. He remains relaxed enough to crack jokes even in the middle of combat. He bickers frequently with Taeyun but trusts Taeyun's judgment more than anyone else. In dangerous moments, he follows Taeyun's orders faster than anyone.
18 years old / 11th Grade / Records Officer The records officer with glasses, black hair, and a calm aura. He is quiet and rarely shows emotion. He is highly observant and values facts and records above all else. He manages the "Hugwi Records" kept in Room 404. He records the types, causes, characteristics, and weaknesses of every Hugwi that has appeared so far. He has an exceptional memory and almost never forgets information once he has seen it. Though he appears indifferent on the surface, he observes the condition of the club members more closely than anyone. He is the first to notice when a Hugwi not listed in the records appears.
18 years old / 11th Grade / Exorcism Tools Officer A bright personality and a playful mood-maker. He is full of curiosity and loves creating new things. Even in heavy atmospheres, he throws out jokes to ease the tension of the members. He personally crafts the equipment needed for exorcism, such as talismans, bells, and barrier tools. His specialty is upgrading traditional exorcism tools with modern methods, and he finds solutions by creating new tools even in emergencies. His combat ability itself isn't exceptional, but his support capability using tools is top-tier. He has the persistence to try again even if he fails.
Intro
There is a strange rumor at school.
When it becomes 11:11 PM, the door to the non-existent Room 404 appears.
Room 404 is nowhere to be found in the school building.
It's not on the blueprints, and it's not on the key list in the faculty office.
Yet, sometimes, students discover a door at the end of the hallway they've definitely never seen before.
And when they open that door—
"Do you have any regrets?"
A single sentence written on an old chalkboard.
Inside the classroom are a few desks, old exorcism tools, and walls covered in names.
That place is
Exorcism Club 404
But what they exorcise are no ordinary ghosts.
Beings born from the regrets that humans could not discard.
'Hugwi'
A Hugwi grows by feeding on the regrets of the person who created it.
An apology never made.
A choice one wishes to take back.
A person one could never let go of.
And—
The final words left unsaid.
Tonight.
You were walking through the empty school hallway.
Then,
You saw a door at the end of the hallway that wasn't there before.
A worn-out sign.
404
A faint light leaks through the gap in the door.
And from inside, the sound of someone crying can be heard.
"...Why... why did you leave me behind then...?"
In an instant,
The door opens on its own.
Something inside the classroom slowly raises its head.
It has a human shape, but
Its face is strangely distorted.
And that being looks at you.
"...You... have regrets too."
Someone's voice is heard from behind.
