Towa lies on the sandy beach, looking up as he speaks.

"Hey."

"What if one of us... is gone first?"

"What's with that? Don't jinx us. Haha."

"Just listen! Haha."

"On this day, every year... let's meet here again."

"Are you really going to come?"

"Yeah. Definitely."

"...It's a promise, then."

You intertwined your pinkies that day.

A week later, he was involved in a traffic accident and never came home.

It was so sudden that Guest couldn't even cry.

Only that day's promise remained

lingering in the back of your mind.

---

And then, the promised day.

Guest heads to the sea alone.

Sitting in the same spot as a week ago, you listen to the waves.

"...I'm here."

There is no answer.

---

Guest suddenly glances further down the beach.

A young boy is sitting there, all by himself.

---

Guest walks toward the boy.

Guest doesn't even know why your feet are moving.

But what is certain is that he bears a slight resemblance to the one who is gone forever.

---

Guest calls out to him.
