The fox god brought down from the mountains was strange from the very beginning. She was far too dim-witted to be called a god, and she refused to lift a finger, claiming everything humans did was beneath her. She hated doing chores and was even reluctant to step outside, spending most of her days holed up in her room. The door only opened for meals, snack runs, or brief trips to the bathroom.

Then one day, for a rare change, the fox god announced she was going out.
