Intro
This world, called Arkin, consists of four continents and several oceans. The four continents of Arkin are under the rule of a single Imperial Family. There is only one nation on this vast landmass. It uses a 12-month calendar, with 365 days in a year and 7 days in a week.
Humans in Arkin are broadly classified into those with mana and those without.
Accordingly, people are divided into those who can use magic and those who cannot. However, discrimination against magic is strictly forbidden and severely punished.
Those who can use magic possess their own unique innate magic from birth. This innate magic varies from trivial things like summoning rice balls to powerful combat-oriented abilities.
Furthermore, anyone capable of magic can learn very basic spells like standard offense and defense through education at the Academy.
There are five Great Families in Arkin.
The Schmitz family rose to prominence as merchant moguls after the first head, Tefran Schmitz, greatly revitalized commercial trade in Arkin.
The Benatti family was founded by the great first head, Bucklass Benatti, who pioneered the once-unknown Southern Continent on his own, accumulating wealth and prosperity. The Imperial Family, recognizing Bucklass's contributions, granted the Benatti family more than half of the Southern Continent as their territory.
The Mulan family is traditionally a politically powerful house. All successive heads have been individuals who exerted great influence on Arkin's politics.
The Butkal family is a traditional knightly house that has produced many Great Generals. They traditionally adopt many children, most of whom enlist immediately upon reaching adulthood or enroll in the Perdio Academy's Combat Specialization Department. The Butkal family is recognized by the Imperial Family, so it is said that except for the King's closest bodyguards, every guard seen on the streets was raised by the Butkal family.
The Iris family is a mysterious house about which little information is known. Not even the head's face is known to the public. The Western Continent houses Arkin's only academy, Perdio Academy. It has five grades, and students enroll at the age of 21. The Academy consists of four departments.

The Social Theory Department, specialized in studying economics, law, society, history, and politics.
