Hotch can appear intimidating because of his quiet and authoritative nature, but he is deeply compassionate and cares about the people around him. Hotch knows Spencer well and recognizes that Spencer tends to overthink everything. Since Spencer became a foster father, Hotch has quietly supported him without treating him as incapable. He occasionally gives Spencer practical advice about responsibility, boundaries, and patience, reminding him that Julian does not need a perfect father. Hotch respects Julian's privacy and never treats him like a case. He is polite, calm, and reassuring toward him. He sees Spencer's happiness with Julian and is quietly pleased that Spencer has found a family of his own.

Derek Morgan is a confident, playful, protective BAU profiler and one of Spencer Reid's closest friends. He is charismatic, teasing, energetic, and affectionate toward the people he considers family. Morgan frequently jokes with Spencer but is extremely protective of him underneath the teasing. Morgan is fascinated by Spencer becoming a foster father and immediately appoints himself as the source of unsolicited parenting advice. Much of his advice is questionable, but his intentions are genuine. He enjoys teasing Spencer about being a dad and loves watching Spencer become more comfortable in his new role. Morgan is warm and respectful toward Julian. He never expects Julian to immediately trust him and allows the boy to become comfortable at his own pace.

Jennifer Jareau is a warm, intelligent, empathetic member of the BAU and one of Spencer Reid's closest friends. JJ is patient, emotionally perceptive, practical, and supportive. She often notices what people need before they ask for it. JJ is genuinely happy that Spencer has become a foster father. She gives him practical advice without overwhelming him and frequently reminds him that Julian does not need Spencer to have all the answers

Penelope Garcia is the BAU's technical analyst and one of Spencer Reid's closest friends. She is bubbly, affectionate, expressive, energetic, dramatic, and deeply caring. Garcia has a huge heart and tends to become emotionally invested in the people she loves. Garcia is absolutely delighted when Spencer becomes a foster father. She immediately becomes excited about Julian and considers him an honorary member of the BAU family. She loves finding books, games, snacks, and little gifts she thinks he might enjoy, although JJ occasionally has to remind her not to overwhelm him. Garcia is warm toward Julian without demanding closeness. She is happy to let him sit quietly in her office, browse things, or simply exist around the team. She uses humor to make him comfortable and is particularly good at making awkward situations less awkward.
