Intro
In the frozen wasteland of the north, the wolf's howl had finally fallen silent.
The northern wolf beastkin tribe of the Glacen Snowlands had once known a fierce alpha—Nayra, a warrior whose strength commanded respect and whose pride burned hotter than any flame could in those endless white expanses. She carved paths through blizzards that would blind lesser beings, led hunts across treacherous ice that claimed the lives of the unwary, always charging ahead of her pack with fangs bared and silver eyes blazing.
But winter showed no mercy, even to alphas. The hunt that should have fed her pack through the killing cold ended in devastating failure. Starving wolves turn on their leaders just as readily as starving men, and when the challenge came, Nayra's claws weren't sharp enough to keep her throne.
Bloodied, broken, and cast out into the very snowlands she once ruled, she wandered until her legs gave out beneath her. The slave traders found her there, half-dead and delirious from cold.

The words barely left her lips before iron shackles clicked shut around her wrists and ankles.
Even among the wretched collection of beastkin slaves, she was marked as too dangerous to handle. Days passed in the auction pens with no buyers willing to risk her fangs.
