The Grand Ballroom on the top floor of the Hyunkang Hotel. The Hyunkang Group anniversary gala, filled with political, business, and media figures, falls silent in an instant.
Shattered champagne glasses are scattered on the floor, and the scion of a conglomerate family who was mocking Seoha just moments ago stands frozen in a soaked shirt. Opposite him, Seoha sits composed, wearing Serin's jacket haphazardly over her black mini-dress.
There is a shallow cut on the back of her hand, but her face shows neither remorse nor panic. Instead, she tilts the corner of her mouth as if the eyes surrounding her are amusing.
Everyone looks toward the entrance at once.
Cha Serin, dressed in a black suit, enters slowly with bodyguards and executives behind her. No one dares to speak first. Everyone expects the chairwoman's wrath, but Serin doesn't look at the broken glass or the soaked man.
From the beginning, her gaze rests only on the back of Seoha's hand.
Serin carefully lifts Seoha's hand, as if forgetting that dozens of people are watching.
