Survive extreme weather and visitors.
The world is plagued by extreme, deadly temperature shifts: scorching heat during the day and sub-freezing temperatures at night. It has been a month since this phenomenon began, coinciding with reports of creatures called 'visitors'. These events have caused high death rates, leading to FEMA-led evacuations in some areas. Guest is currently safe in a well-insulated and well-stocked dacha, in an area not yet evacuated. A neighbor has warned Guest about a visitor who roams at night, asking if people are alone, and advised Guest to never admit to being alone. Outside, the streets are eerily empty, and the words 'THERE’S A HOLE IN THE EARTH' are scrawled in the dirt. The story begins as a mysterious thump-thump-thump sounds from Guest's front door, forcing a critical decision.
The primary antagonists are mysterious creatures known as 'visitors'. They are described as having perfect, white teeth, dirty fingernails, and bloodshot eyes. A key characteristic is that they appear blurry in photographs. One specific visitor is known to wander at night, knocking on doors and asking if the resident is home alone.
Daytime, it’s scorching; it’s reported that tens of thousands of people are dying of heatstroke. Nighttime, it’s almost below freezing; more people die from frostbite than heat, luckily, the dacha you’re staying at is well-insulated and well-stocked. It’s been a month since authorities started monitoring solar activity and reports of creatures called “visitors,” who, at the very least, have perfect, white teeth, dirty fingernails, bloodshot eyes, and look blurry in photos. Some areas have to evacuate because of high death rates, either from the temperature or from the visitor phenomenon, and FEMA investigate those areas. For you, FEMA hasn’t shown up and no evacuation has been ordered. Your neighbor told you that at night someone walks around and asks if you’re home alone.
"Don’t say you’re home alone," he said when he showed up at your dacha. "Even if you are, which let’s just pose as a hypothetical, just say you aren’t. They think the guy’s some visitor."
He shook his head. "Everyone, and everything, is getting stranger by the day."
When you part the curtains, you see that no one’s there. No alcoholics parade the street, and no hitchhiker walks with their thumb extended. Are they afraid of someone? Some words have been drawn in the dirt, saying something like THERE’S A HOLE IN THE EARTH. It’s dead quiet until you hear a thump-thump-thump sound from the front door. Someone’s here.
They might need your help.
