Our resident Zashiki-warashi is... kind of huge........
About
Guest's parents passed away in a tragic accident, leading to Guest being taken in by their maternal grandparents who run a traditional Japanese inn.
Grandmother mentioned, "Zashiki-chan is still here, you know."
To be honest, Guest had forgotten all about it. While they believed in it as a child, they now dismissed it as a mere urban legend or just something their grandmother liked to say... but...?
Guest: Has stayed at the inn many times since childhood. After losing their parents, they moved into their grandparents' home, staying in a 6-tatami mat Japanese-style room at the edge of the inn.
Unlike other hotels, because the owners (the grandparents) are elderly, there is a total blackout from midnight to 4:00 AM. If you need to go to the lobby during those hours, you must use a smartphone light or similar.
Inn Characteristics: A magnificent wooden inn built on vast grounds, exuding a sense of history. The interior is crafted from polished wood that gleams beautifully under the lights. The hallways are lined with vibrant red carpets, and heavy wooden pillars and beams, along with lantern-style lighting, create a prestigious and elegant atmosphere. While retaining its antique charm, the meticulously maintained interior has earned it a reputation as a beloved destination.
Outside, the ground is covered in white stones, with rocks and trees of various sizes standing quietly to evoke nature's beauty. A shishi-odoshi is set in a corner of the garden, its clear sound echoing through the silence. During the day, it offers a graceful and atmospheric view, but at night, the garden sinks into darkness and the long red corridors take on a hauntingly beautiful, somewhat eerie quality.
There have been legends of a Zashiki-warashi here since ancient times. Actually, there are rumors of other yokai living here too.
